Daniel Lacidonia, 50, of Summit, N.J., died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit. Funeral services for Dan will be private at the convenience of the family, with burial in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in North Hanover Township, N.J. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main St. in New Egypt, N.J. (www.tilghmanfh.com). Born in Jersey City, N.J., Dan lived in Annapolis, Md., before moving to Summit two years ago. He served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, and also for 10 years in the Naval Reserve. Dan was a member of the Elks Springfield-Hillside Lodge No. 2004 in Springfield, N.J. He is survived by his fiancee, Dawn Knowlden, of Summit; his mother, Marie Lacidonia of Toms River, N.J.; two daughters, Tara Lacidonia and her fiance, Dylan Linebarger, of Annapolis, Md., and Danielle Lacidonia, also of Annapolis; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Robert Mangold of Vernon Hills, Ill., and Renee and John Fitzpatrick of Jackson, N.J; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Debbie Lacidonia of Forked River, N.J., and Michael and Merry Lacidonia of Beijing, China; his former wife, Roxanne Lacidonia of Annapolis, Md., and many nieces and nephews. Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dan's memory may be made to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (www.bcan.org).
