CWO4 Jerry A. Riddle, USN Retired

cwo4_jerry_riddle_-_lha4Jerry Arthur Riddle, 65, of Lynn Haven, Florida., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 9, 2008.

Jerry was born December 10, 1942, in Minneapolis, the son of Dorothy Henry Riddle and the late Arthur Roger Riddle. Jerry retired after 30 years with the United States Navy, having served twice in the Vietnam War, and traveled worldwide. He retired as a CW04. Retirement didn't satisfy Jerry, he worked another 15 years serving as the pretrial release director of Bay County.

Then he was ready to resume his travel. Jerry and his wife, Sue, immediately became RV-ers. Other hobbies were hunting, motorcycling and diving, just naming a few. Not to be forgotten, not to be considered as a hobby, but as a lifestyle, Jerry and Jesus always were walking together. Jerry lived his life serving his Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Kincer Riddle of Lynn Haven: three daughters,
Terry Webb and husband, Earl, of Jacksonville, Florida, Beth Hockaday of Virginia and Londa Brumback and husband, Donald, of Kentucky; one son, Bart Riddle and wife,
Dina, of Jacksonville, Florida.; seven grandchildren, Jay Webb, Nicole and Cody Carpenter of Jacksonville, Michael Hockaday of Virginia, Blake Brumback of Kentucky, Dylan and Dawson Riddle of Jacksonville; one brother, Roger Lee Riddle and wife, Barbara; one sister; and Helen Beck and husband, Brian, of Minneapolis.

A memorial service was held Thursday, August 14, 2008, at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church on Transmitter Road with Dr. Jim Luther officiating, assisted by Dr. Doug Pennington and the Rev. Nic Gibson. Prior to the services, the family received friends. Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Jerry was a Nassau plankowner and reported aboard a CWO2 as the ship’s Aircraft Maintenance and Material Officer.
